‘The Enabling Role of Internal Organizational Communication in Insider Threat Activity – Evidence From a High Security Organization’

This paper explores the role of internal communication in one under-researched form organizational crisis, insider threat – to an organization, its people or resources, from those who have legitimate access. In this case study, we examine a high security drawing in-depth interviews with management and employees concerning context real-life incident threat. We identify importance three flows (top-down, bottom-up, lateral) explaining, case, enabling, Derived analysis, draw implications for scholars, as well practitioners, concerning: impact unintentional communication, consequences selective silence divergence levels shared understanding among different groups within organization.
